WBC Pool C Recap

I’m still amped. Can you blame me I just watched a tournament of all-stars and players playing their butts off. Ok some. But it’s March and the madness had nothing to do with the Tar Heels.

I wrote an email to a local radio station here describing my time at the WBC. I did it just to let the host know that I am one of the few that fully supports his passion for baseball and his frustration at the lack of support my home city gave OVERALL.

Overall, because the fans that went. Us Toronto baseball fans REALLY love baseball. We were fortunate to have a series of games live and even in the recession climate snagged the entire package. Even some bought walk up tickets to more than one.

The others? Well you SHOULD feel bad damnit. Half of Venezuela’s momentum came from the overwhelming support of their fans. USA even amped itself based on “heel heat” (trust me I will talk wrestling in the middle of my baseball talk a lot). We could have gotten those boys at least bit energized or edgy if we had the place rockin on Monday.

Bah.

WBC Loot!

Man I’m not even tired. Just got back from Beneswayla vs Ooh Ess Eh! Watching Mehico vs Aussies. Man I wish Canada was in That pool…. well we couldn’t beat Italy so ..

Anyways I had mad fun in my 6 games in 5 days March marathon. I’m not even tired like I supposed I would be .. I’m jealous .. of San Diego.

3 more weeks until live baseball? Noooo … too long, I should go to Dunedin this weekend. haha.

MLBogs is gonna be my new obsession and I haven’t really done anything yet. I even got commenter and .. my chesire cat grin is the featured blog?? and I’m not even a cute blonde Cubbies fan. Aww shux.

I’ll link all you guys in a sec and then tomorrow I’ll take my stride around the MLBlog diamond.

For now I leave u with my loot.

Yes I scored a Venezuelan flag. I HAD too. BTW I was in the 2nd row directly behind 1st base/all the photographers.

Now I gotta edit and choose pics. Fun times … but I wish i was still at section 115 row 2 seat 109. I miss my 5 day home already.

Still Shocked

The Canada shock is gone. Besides, I live in Toronto, I’m used to it. I’m also used to smiling and then quickly adapting to other cultures and getting swooped up in it.

Truthfully the 2 most enthusiastic fan bases are in the Pool C Finale. Not only have I admired the Venezuelan charm, but I still love my Americano bretheren. I’ve actually met some … gasp … rational, reasonable and fun BoSox fans. … What’s next me cheering for Cena against Edge?

I’ll post the pics later, I’m excited still for this final game of the round. Maybe it’s cuz after it I can sleep, buy groceries, clean up my home .. and maybe you know … relax. yeah right.

I came home last night from the game and immediately turned on to watch Shock n Awe WBC 09 part 3 or 9 I dunno. Upset City .. 83 mill payroll vs 400 gs . ahaha.

Damn.

I’m almost as excited for this Blog “therapy” as I am for MLB season to start.

Ok methinks the proxy server is gonna figure out this isn’t my lunch time. ahaha.

Time to go bounce . 4 hrs to go.

I’ll play around with this place soon time.

Warm Up Toss

This is definitely a long time coming. Although the reason for starting an MLBlog right now is due to the frenzy of the WBC (or my craving for baseball in March), it was inevitable.

I think about Baseball 24/7. Ken Burns ain’t got nuttin on me. I’m also Canadian where that is VERY frustrating around here, when it’s summer and the lead story is a possibility of a coaching change to the Toronto Marlies NEXT season or The Leafs have a charity golf game.

Bah. I’m also West-Indian, so the family is more into Cricket and tolerates it because of the similarities. Except for my dad. My Baseball journey begins and will continue for life because of my dad.

For Christmas I created a DVD montage video of our lifelong baseball road trips (up to our home away from home city’s farewell to Shea and Bambino’s Casa) for him. It was also a “lil” bit for me. Ok a whole lot. I still watch it.

From Exhibition Stadium to the Astrodome to Miller Park, you keep building MLB Stadiums and I’ll keep going.

I hope someday I will get to watch a game in Japan, Cuba, Puerto Rico and thanks to my newfound South American compadres – BENESWAYLAAHH. VENNNEZUUELLLAH AAAROUFF .. I have no idea what they are saying but section 115 1st base side down at the Rogers Centre is all Venezuela town right now and I love it.

That was my intro post. I have way more to say, you will soon find this out.

I’ll end with the reasoning of the blog name.
